Running

It felt good to get out there yesterday but I could tell about mid way through the end of this run I am still not 100% from whatever I picked up. Maybe I will have to continue to ease out of 2023 and into 2024.

Some change in our evening activities today so after work I decided ramble around the trails of Edenbrook Conservation Area. It was nice to catch the sunset but by the time I was done with my run it was dark.

Another Apple Watch fail on my run today but I was able to somehow get the .fit file to import correctly in the end. It was nice to have some warmer weather today but I was pressed for time.

Cold run today but still no snow (or ice rink for that matter). Guess on the positive note the trail was still clear so I ducked into it for a little bit.

Boardwalks, bridges, and really low tunnels. It was a wet one out there but by getting this run in today I think this is the most millage I have done in a given week this year.

Had some time and with the warmer than normal weather I took it as an opportunity to explore and run longer than planned. It really was a nice night and I can’t believe with the 50Β°F temps today I found a long patch of snow still on a sidewalk.

Darby was not a fan of this run as at one point he stopped and just laid down in the middle of the street. Let’s just say I was thankful he still finished as I didn’t really want to carry this 50lb dog which would have been at least a half mile.

Well hello there… πŸ¦ƒ Found a roadblock on my run today that oddly enough didn’t think much as I ran past, stopped and then took this picture. This run started out with me unsure what was going to happen but actually felt good and tried to keep up a quicker pace than normal.

After a weekend off I was glad to be able to get this run in and start the week off right. My goal was for a little shorter than what it ended up being but got lost in thoughts and then listened to a training for the last 3 miles.

Decided to run around Lotus Lake today to get another long run in for the week. Even with my Apple Watch pausing failure I still hit my millage I was hoping for. It was short weather today even thought there was a thin sheet of ice on the lake.

Back to familiar trails… Well I guess I have been going to Maine enough now that maybe those trails feel second nature too. Feeling sluggish today and hoped this run would do the trick after traveling back to Minnesota early this morning. I think it worked but limited sleep is probably my problem.

    Markdown πŸ€”

I would say for at least the past year I have been pretty true to using Markdown when publishing stuff on this here blog and more specifically making sure that I use Markdown in order to post my running pictures on a very frequent basis πŸ˜„ (this goes for other pictures too). However, I realized yesterday is there a benefit in doing so since the Micro.blog app uploads photos to HTML? I use Gluon too but I think you have to click the inline part to make it be markdown. I guess I am just wondering if it actually gets me anything to do so or if it is a little overkill anyways. If I use Markdown, which I actually don’t mind doing for text purposes but then just use HTML for the actual inserting of photos does it make a difference or will it make it harder if that day ever comes that I just export everything to have offline to view as some things will be in Markdown and other things in HTML?

This is probably more on my mind right now as I have been a little all over the place in Notes apps over the past year, as I just noticed my Craft.doc subscription went though for another 12 months before I got a chance to canceled it. πŸ˜– I am still using Obsidian, which I am typing this in right now because it feels right and I can access it across devices with a simple click of a button it gets published to Micro.blog thanks to the Micro.Publish extension created by @Otaviocc. With that said I am really only using Obsidian for my work notes so a great example is once I publish this I will delete it from Obsidian otherwise it gets messy when searching for things while working. This is where it would be great to have two Obsidian vaults open at once but that is a grip for another time.

So for anyone that has any thoughts or opinions I am open to hearing if there is a benefit or not or if it is just personal preference.

Could catch a little bit of the sunrise on my run this morning which was good to see as it has been overcast here all week. Today I decided to β€œcircle” downtown and find some other areas to explore. This only meant I found a fun hill to climb that I was not as excited about finding.

Christmas Train πŸŽ„πŸš‚… The Eastern Promenade Trail sure was slick out this morning running as there was a very thin sheet of ice on it. Glad that once I hit the Back Cove Trail it was fine otherwise I might have had to turn around.

Going to be a long day and wanted to round the week out with a little more millage to get back on track assuming next week will be lower. So I had to get this run done earlier.

Meetings got moved so I decided to get out for a run early to enjoy the sun rising. Was colder again this morning but not all bad and I ran farther than planned as I didn’t have a plan but be home by 9am.

After some really cold days I think I overdressed for this run. This route had no preplanning and I just went where it made sense today and today it made sense to be on this railroad for a short stent. πŸ›€οΈ

Don’t be fooled, that boardwalk was a little slick so I took my time navigating them. Other than that the run wasn’t bad once I got moving, tried to follow a trail but it didn’t go anywhere. Make me wonder if it is about the right time to cut thought a Prairie in another park that has no trails. 😏

This was a cold run until about the last 2 miles when I was warm enough to consider taking this photo. After being down and out for the past couple of days this was needed and felt good to get moving.

Yes that is a thin sheet of ice on the water.

Early morning Thanksgiving Day run along the High Trestle Trail. I was surprised to find it concrete vs just a crushed rock or asphalt. Also, I veered off the main trail as it got lighter out as I realized there was an intact section of another track that was fun to meander on.
