Had a good longer walk with Big Darbs this morning who now is passed out on the floor in front of his water bowl. We saw two swans this morning but no idea what kind I am thinking it is a Trumpeter but not 100% sure. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈπŸ¦’

Sometimes you make mistakes in planning but you push through the training run. Even though I knew it was going to be warm I misjudged the amount of water I should have taken after last weeks cooler run when I used none of it and with about 4 miles left I was making 1/4 of one of these last 🫣.

πŸ“· Photoblogging: Day 11 - Luckily I missed those dark clouds in the sky when I was outside. However, I also missed snapping a picture of a rainbow 15 min before I took this photo. Can’t win them all.

Overcast sky looms above a calm lake with bare trees and distant buildings lining the shore, suggesting an impending storm in a serene natural setting.

This day has been crazy so I am glad I got some time earlier today between meetings today to get this run done. I really wasn’t sure it was going to happen as my whole afternoon and well into the evening was work stuff and running one of my kids to swim.

A small stream meanders through a leaf-strewn woodland with bare trees arching over the water, reflecting a clear sky above.

Found some time tonight before I had to pick the youngest up from dance to squeeze this run in. The rain stopped right before I started which gave the air that after rain smell and kept it cool out. Saw a rainbow but since I was mostly on trails there was too much tree cover to make it worth while.

πŸ“· Photoblogging: Day 10 - As we have been doing some organizing over the last couple of months I keep holding onto all of my old model Trains even though I have never really used them even when my kids were little. Might be time to consider letting them go but for now they got moved to the shed.

πŸ“· Photoblogging: Day 09 - Now that I have been using a paper notebook again to jot things down for work I appreciate the crisp new pages I start each day.

A tail of running on tired legs and misjudged weather. I guess just one of those runs you try to get into a zone and try not to think about it. I will tell myself I heard that running on tired legs is good from time to time.

πŸ“· Photoblogging: Day 08 - This is probably good prevention for most but when out for a run I don’t let these little obstacles stop me.

πŸ“· Photoblogging: Day 07 - Sparkling water (from this machine now specifically) has been a staple of my well-being lately giving me a slight pivot I needed.

Well before we started this run we knew it was going to be a rainy one today… And it was for really all but a couple miles. 🌧️

Shaarli Shortcut

I was sad to see the news inside of the Shaarli IOS app that the IOS app will cease to exist starting sometime in the summer of 2024. I am not sure if this will really happen or not but I decided to search around to find an alternative for me to quickly send a link to my Shaarli instance. I found one that Mike Rockwell at InitialCharge had put together at some point but stated he no longer used anymore. I obviously tried to run it and it kind of worked but added a lot of extra characters in the Title and Link that I felt could be cleaned up. So I used what he started as an example to what I needed to do and started from scratch.

In the end, I put tougher a very basic example that works and I can see where I could make some improvements going forward but not sure I will do much at this time but more tried to prepare myself for the time that the IOS app might go away. The other nice thing is that this Shortcut I can use on my Mac too but obviously I can use the Bookmarklet as well so it is a little duplicative.

If you are interested feel free to copy my Shaarli Link Share Shortcut.

πŸ“· Photoblogging: Day 06 - Seems windy out today but based on the weather I saw it might be worse tomorrow morning when I am planning on being out and about in the neighborhood. 😬

πŸ“· Photoblogging: Day 05 - I feel bad reposted a picture I already posted today but to me this is serene when running in the morning because at this time I normally see no one and if I pick the path right I can get away from streets and be alone with my thoughts.

A golden sunrise illuminates a marsh of tall, dry reeds against a backdrop of trees and clear sky.

Got this run in earlier today as the kids didn’t have school. So enjoyed this casual, slightly on the cool side with shorts run.

πŸ“· Photoblogging: Day 04 - Really not much foliage on any of the trees but give another month and I feel like this path alone will start to change.

I had exactly 45 min to get this run in before the next meeting. Not bad overall as I gave myself a couple min to cool down as it was much warmer out than expecting and for me… I over dressed but glad to have the sun out and a little warmer weather.

Still Sticking with the USB sticks I see...

I am baffled by what has been happening as I posted in December last year when I purchsed some picturs and was handed a USB stick. I am not quite sure what is happening that some companies resorting to sending (or giving) people pictures on USB sticks! Isn’t this the age of highspeed internet, almost unlimited data, and cheap online storage? I thought this was long dead but to the point, I now have in my position two USB sticks from the same orginization that we purchased pictures from from our daughters dance competiation almost a month back. The first one that we recieved 2 weeks ago was corrupt so they had to mail us another one πŸ™„.

The best part is for people to view the pictures to let the company know what routines your daughters are in (by a number system) you log into SmugMug where they have all of these photos by routine. So then after they email you they load the routines on a USB stick, put them in the mail and hope for the best.

I am so confused on so many levels about what had happened.

On a positive, the pictures that they got of my daughter look really good! Also, I really can’t complain about the color of the USB sticks… 🧑

Two cards are shown; one illustrates a person using a hip bump to open a door, and the other is labeled “Pip’s VIP ACCESS CARD.
