Smoke run… I didn’t notice it today until after the rain left and it seemed hazy but in looking it up it is smoke due to the Canadian fires. Was short for time but explored the rest of the Cardinal Creek Conservation Area.

Has been a busy day but my youngest has a 45 min piano lesson that I took advantage of to get a workout in. Fun seeing some of these trails in the spring vs the fall or winter.

Found some time at the end of the day after kids activities to get out there. Felt like a struggle but I like seeing the green everywhere again.

It was so nice outside last night that I decided to let this pup roam the backyard as we played fetch 🐢

Fun giving a run on these newer trails around Lake Ann and Lake Lucy. To bad there is an abrupt stop at one end but hopefully that will change in the future.

Guess we are allowing birds in the airport these days. 🀨 I mean how do they get in and it wasn’t just these two I counted 5 at one point.

The end of the narrow gauge train line. Also, last day in Portland so I had to get out there one last time.

Early morning run before a long day of work with some big meetings very late in the afternoon. As early as I got up it is still shocking to me how high the sun was already.

Instead of just running along my normal trails in Portland I rambled around the streets of Portland. Not 100% sure that was a great idea as I found some very quite streets and then ran though about a half mile of a homeless camp.πŸ˜”

After a long travel adventure and work it was good to get out and move a bit as I have been sitting a lot. I decided to go all around the back cove as I had nothing to get to tonight.

Had to get up earlier than I liked for this one as a friend I was running with had something at 730am. However, I enjoyed showing him some of the trails I have explored and were on his list to get to.

Great weather out today and circled a very familiar trail / marsh. Really can’t beat a sunny 66Β°F with no clouds in sight.

Found a strange abandoned road (Cirrus Way) that didn’t say no trespassing so I figured I should give it a run. I am very curious why it became unused as it does take you to the Sky (well Sky Lane 😁).

After that I had a lovely time exploring and making my own trails in the woods.

I don’t take some of the other trails connected to the main route by my house but they really make you feel like you are not in a city. I will say it was a struggle of miles out there today but I kept plodding along.

Was windy out running today and felt much more tired and sore than I should after a two day break. I should be thankful as all my morning meetings got moved around which allowed for this grind of miles 😁.

Never to late in the afternoon for some coffee right? β˜•οΈ

I realized this morning that a book I started listening to I am pretty sure I have listened to before. However, I am wondering if I ran out of time and never actually finished it as I am tracking with the story but don’t remember how it ended, so I guess I will just listen again. πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

Rainy Friday miles that I was able to fit in-between morning meetings.

My original plan was for a shorter run today but I got stuck in cruise mode and decided to keep going on this lonely stretch of trail.

Congratulations and a well deserved recognition for my amazing wife on not only being nominated but received the Special Caring Award from the Bloomington Public School district. We didn’t know she won the award before showing up to the event last night. It was a fun event and interesting hearing the nomination stories of so many teachers (and others) that go way above and beyond to help students.
