Todays running adventure in the light snow fall was finding a new trail. Or that is what I thought I had stumbled upon… Come to find out I was wrong. So after jumping through the tall grass for a while I gave up and turned around. πŸŒ¨πŸƒπŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

Do you see a trail?πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

The Tale (or Trail) of 6 Tunnels

Decided to follow a trail with 6 tunnels yesterday along the 3.4 mile Bluff Creek Local Trail in Chanhassen πŸƒπŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

W 78th St Tunnel (the start of the trail)

Arboretum Blvd Tunnel (It is really two tunnels as you can see the space in the center but really only one road so I am counting it as one)

Coulter Blvd Tunnel

Twin Cities & Western Railroad Tunnel

Lyman Blvd Tunnel

Bluff Creek Road Tunnel

Then I actually found the end of the trail so I turned around and ran back to my car 😁. I had actually never run on this trail before so even though the map said it was going to end sometimes things aren’t updated that well and I was thinking it might have gone further. So it did surprise me when I came to the end and the path did not go further or connect up to anything else. I am guessing it is because if they wanted to keep extending it South they would have to figure out how to go over or under HWY-212.

Overall, it was really nice trail that was all asphalt so I might have to remember this one for next summer with the kids as the distance isn’t to crazy either.

Update: Since I didn’t post this yesterday as planned, I dug into some of the old Chanhassen park records and it seems like the Master Park / Trail plans from 2017 and 2018 assumed they would continue it further South. I wonder if once the construction of HWY-212 was completed they just abandoned the original plan or maybe didn’t leave a passage to get under it. I did notice that the HWY was on the original plans but based on what I know it wouldn’t have been completed at that time and was still a work in progress. Additionally, the details of their plan never really addressed how it was going to get past that HWY like other referenced markings on the plan to show an existing bridge or tunnel.

Got boosted today πŸ’‰πŸš€β€¦ Also, for good measure I got the flu shot to but they gave it to me in the other arm.

I think Walgreens made a slight mistake on the wording of the product matching to the picture… πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈπŸ€£

These bridges were slicker than I had anticipated today with the little bit of packed ice/snow on top. Not to mention the rest of the trails were pretty muddy too πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Going to figure out how to write a PhD recommendation letter for an employee of mine. Never had to do this but might need to search the web for some guidance. I would do better if I could just call these colleges up and talk though what they want to know 😁.

After a busy weekend, I went out for what Strava tagged as an β€œafternoon” run πŸ˜„πŸƒπŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

After the early morning hockey game today the team went to Treats in Blaine. I am pretty sure all of the Hockey girls enjoyed it like this one did πŸ’πŸ˜

This weekend consisted of our girls in a lot of activities… Hockey and dance took the prize but mixed in was a little basketball, hanging out with friends and a trip to the emergency room for our furry friend 😒. All is well now but glad to start another week..

Nothing like starting a day off of school with a 630am wake-up call for a 9 am game due to drive times.

The new basketball baller…

Emergency vet visit because someone got into a lot of Halloween Candy… πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

When you have to play the Sunday early morning game you go hangout with the team at a new place!

Cheering on the older 12UA girls team for the championship game!

Somehow we found time to make it to dance as well. One sister had it all weekend and the other had it after hockey. See if you can figure it out πŸ˜„

Day off today but there is early morning hockey games as my oldest daughter has a tournament this weekend. Coffee please β˜•οΈ πŸ₯±

Nice new crushed rock to run on today. I had some time this morning so went for a longer than normal mid week run before the snow falls tonight 🌨

Got to test out a new hat this evening from my friend Brendan Leonard Seemed very fitting with the moderate rain I encountered most of the time.

Found some time before dinner after a busy day to run on some trails North of my house. On the trail I scared up this big buck (if only I was quicker with my phone)πŸ¦ŒπŸƒπŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

Unannounced Electricians… I am OK with it

Project β€œShed” is quickly taking shape with the electricians stopping by unannounced and ready to string it all up 😁

This also required me to make quick work during a break in my day to cut out some sections of my garage drywall. This also, brings up a good question on why those three sections are the only ones with insulation πŸ€¨β€¦ The interesting things you find in old houses.

Weekend shed trenching project was a success but I underestimated the amount the workers left for me today πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

First tournament in the books and these boys took home second place. Not a bad start to the season and a hard fought last game it was…

Busy day of kids activities… Bowling, Dance, Hockey game and a Basketball tournament that my sons team took 2nd. Time to enter some stats before I crash 😁

Where did the trail go… Let’s hope I don’t trip πŸ˜¬πŸƒπŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

Thanks @manton for the little script you sent my way as it worked great to pull my latest Micro.blog photo into Drummer.

Just like that operation “shed” project is full steam ahead as the electricians are at work. Now that means I have work to do this weekend 😬.
