Running
With the sun out today this run felt much warmer. There was a little wind out so I strategically tried to not run into it for as much as possible.
Didnโt want to not have run for 4 days because I was at a hockey tournament so I decided to go for a run to tonight in this balmy weather. Seemed like a good time to finally get my yearly Frozen Face picture too.
Was a cold one out there today so it was just a meandering run on very familiar paths. Decided to take the backyard trail but it was very rough as no one seems to maintain it.
Had the time today to peel away from my desk and get a little longer run in before the snow flew this afternoon. I had no real plan on this run but found myself on this trail that doesnโt have too much snow yet to be a problem.
Had to go pickup the van from an oil change today so the only logical way was to run there. I should probably avoid this tunnel but I didnโt want to cross the major road so just ran fast.
Making fresh tracks while the snow was falling today on my run. Donโt get me wrong when I was on the sidewalks I was a little nervous about slipping but I didnโt slip or fall only scare was a dog that lunged at me on his leash and snagged my running pants. ๐
I donโt know if I trust that ice on the lake yet… That is ok I will continue my run around it. Not to bad out, still feeling good but it is just January and not overly cold today.
Time to start off 2024, no plans yet but need to get my running fitness back up after my time off and feeling under the weather. This run felt good till after as I need this cough to go away. Slow and steady…
It felt good to get out there yesterday but I could tell about mid way through the end of this run I am still not 100% from whatever I picked up. Maybe I will have to continue to ease out of 2023 and into 2024.
Some change in our evening activities today so after work I decided ramble around the trails of Edenbrook Conservation Area. It was nice to catch the sunset but by the time I was done with my run it was dark.
Another Apple Watch fail on my run today but I was able to somehow get the .fit file to import correctly in the end. It was nice to have some warmer weather today but I was pressed for time.
Cold run today but still no snow (or ice rink for that matter). Guess on the positive note the trail was still clear so I ducked into it for a little bit.
Boardwalks, bridges, and really low tunnels. It was a wet one out there but by getting this run in today I think this is the most millage I have done in a given week this year.
Had some time and with the warmer than normal weather I took it as an opportunity to explore and run longer than planned. It really was a nice night and I canโt believe with the 50ยฐF temps today I found a long patch of snow still on a sidewalk.
Darby was not a fan of this run as at one point he stopped and just laid down in the middle of the street. Letโs just say I was thankful he still finished as I didnโt really want to carry this 50lb dog which would have been at least a half mile.
Well hello there… ๐ฆ Found a roadblock on my run today that oddly enough didnโt think much as I ran past, stopped and then took this picture. This run started out with me unsure what was going to happen but actually felt good and tried to keep up a quicker pace than normal.

After a weekend off I was glad to be able to get this run in and start the week off right. My goal was for a little shorter than what it ended up being but got lost in thoughts and then listened to a training for the last 3 miles.
Decided to run around Lotus Lake today to get another long run in for the week. Even with my Apple Watch pausing failure I still hit my millage I was hoping for. It was short weather today even thought there was a thin sheet of ice on the lake.
Back to familiar trails… Well I guess I have been going to Maine enough now that maybe those trails feel second nature too. Feeling sluggish today and hoped this run would do the trick after traveling back to Minnesota early this morning. I think it worked but limited sleep is probably my problem.
