What was only going to be my wife and our daughters going to the movies ended up with our whole family going. It has been a while since I have been to a theater and it wasnβt all bad. Encanto was a really good movie that I can tell the songs will get stuck in my head in the weeks to come.
2021 Girls Hockey Weekend
Had a fun afternoon watching this girl skate at the Xcel Energy Center where the Minnesota Wild play for a 10U clinic that was part of Girls Hockey Weekend.
Was feeling sluggish this morning due to being up most of the night flooding. Decided a long run would help me wake up and it did. Not to mention I had the trail to myself today. Could have been because it was 17Β°F π€·ββοΈππ»ββοΈ
Well, this is not good and seems to be taking some sites offline.. I host a couple WordPress sites for friends and a non-profit and the usage is never this high. I guess I might have to look into this today π
Finally finished up flooding for my 8th year of doing this at 4am for a total time of 18 hrs. That equated to about 1484 Gallons (5618 L). Now we wait for it to freeze but this morning as you can see there is already a thin sheet of ice on it.
13 hours in and the rink is full. Now I need to fill the whole thing up a couple more inches to be skateable. π
9 hours in to flooding and it still hasnβt covered the high side of the rink π. Also, the temperature keeps dropping and we are at 18Β°F now π
Finally, the day and time have come to flood the rink π π With 3 hrs in so far and this is all the water I have but only 1 hr of it has been 2 hoses. The wind has not been super helpful today as I have had to walk around it quite frequently so far.
Family Christmas Movie Night π
The girls setup a family movie for tonight to watch which was of course a family favorite… Elf.
They went all out too and made signs, got snacks, created tickets, and made a seating chart! What a fun idea on a night with no kids activities. πΏπ¬

This was the movie βgateβ to buy your ticket and concessions to buy snacks. Good thing that paper towel pack from Costco is there to stop you from walking right in.

Seemed like a heat wave today as the snow was melting in this 35Β°F weather. Also, why do you think they plowed to this bench? Who is going to sit here in the winter? π€ππ»ββοΈ

Was in the office this morning and home in the afternoon. On my drive home the weather so too perfect so I stopped at a park for a run ππ»ββοΈ.
I ran into a lady I work with out walking her dog. She told me later in the day I inspired her to go running later in the afternoon π
First real amount of snow for the year and I ended up having to blazed my own trail this afternoon in the snow. ππ»ββοΈ
When I pulled into Home Depot to pick up my order I got some strange looks and questions. I just donβt understand why wouldnβt you want to buy 30 bags of mulch in the winter? π€·ββοΈππ
