Running

Trail running is always my favorite but I enjoyed the company on this Father’s day run even more. I might need to get her a better bike if we keep this up. (June 2019, Eden Prairie)

Enjoying the new scenery on an early evening run that was a lot harder than I anticipated (June 2019, Richard T. Anderson Conservatory, Eden Prairie)

Calm morning after an evening and night of rain. Great morning to be out running for #GlobalRunningDay πββοΈ

Wash out! What a beautiful weekend it was to be outside and I really can’t thank my amazing wife @aprilgottwalker enough for letting me go running as I know there were probably 1000 other things to do. I appreciate all she does and am thankful she let me carve out a little time to run. πββοΈ

Wet morning for a 5k run today but for a good cause. I don’t even remember the last time I actually ran a real race so I was happy enough with 22:12. Rain must have scared people away as I took 10th place overall and 1st in my old age bracket ππββοΈ

Last morning in China as I fly out tonight so my last morning of exploring the streets. It still seems strange to find all of these little paths like this that are right around tall buildings and roads. However, when on them you feel like you could be anywhere and doesn’t feel like you are in a major city. πββοΈ

Random thought while running this morning… As crowded as it is in Shanghai China they still have found some way to make lots of bike lanes all over the city π€ (at least where I have been). Also, no one seems to be up early in the morning πββοΈ

Quiet morning run in the streets of Shanghai (May 2019, Shanghai, China)
Had to get a run in this morning before a really long day of travel (16+ hrsπ€¦ββοΈ)… πββοΈ

Good start for a Saturday… Running with Lainey followed up by coffee on the deck while catching up with a good friend on the phone while the family sleeps in…. Next up kids activities on this beautiful Saturday. πββοΈπΆ

Day Four Recap in Sedona and Phoenix...
We started out with some solo hikes / runs around the hotel. Then we went o the Sedona Airport Loop which had great views on the hike. It might have been a good idea to all turn back as it ended with two of us running in the rain. However, then we all claimed a lookout to take some pictures in the rain. Finally, we drove back to Phoenix (through hail nonetheless) and played games with Kent, and hung out with Great Grandma Gott before the big kids and I had to run to the airport. Such a great short trip with tons of family time.

Running along the Skywalker trail in the early morning hours (May 2019, Skywalker Trail, Sedona, AZ)
Last run in Arizona before heading home tonight. Thankfully the rain stopped right before I went outside but that added the challenge with a little mud and wet rocks… πββοΈ

Cloudy morning trail run today but I still can’t complain. Beautiful view of the mountains but with my narrow trail at points looking down was a better option… πββοΈ

It doesn’t matter how much I run but running on these hills around Phoenix this morning was less than easy. Thankfully the view was worth it… πββοΈ
Great way to start the weekend off right with a morning run with Lainey Lou the Doodle… πββοΈπΆ

Afternoon run with the big kids today… It was interesting that they stopped at this spot to wait for me and see/listen to the sounds of nature. As this is a spot I love to stop at to grab a quick photo of the scenes of nature. #running #getoutside. πββοΈπ΄ββοΈπ΄ββοΈ

Saturday morning run and conversations with this girl and her favorite dog. It is kind of selfish as I want to run but I truly enjoy the company and conversations from this girl. The only problem is she wants to stop every mile or so to just listen to the birds or watch the geese, ducks, and squirrels move about. I can’t really complain though who doesn’t just enjoy just being outside. πββοΈπΆ
